The main reason for there being updates to legislation was to add more clarity as to the way the pet food industry
declares Nutritional Additives.

Previously, the added compound level of nutritional additives was declared e.g. Selenium as Sodium Selenite which produced a higher value.

This higher value appeared to suggest that pet food manufacturers were oversupplying nutritional additives and caused unnecessary confusion for consumers.

The new declaration requires the added elemental level to be declared e.g. added level of Selenium. This new declaration is a much clearer representation of nutritional additives and provides confidence for consumers that manufacturers are adhering nutritional guidelines without the need for questioning.

Vitamins

We have simplified the declaration of vitamins Vitamin A, Vitamin D3 & Vitamin E.

E Numbers

Your old data sheets previously used E numbers to declare the nutritional additives. We have chosen to declare the additives using full names on the new product guides.
